New visitors facilities at nymans gardens in sussex
Now in the care of the National Trust, Nymans Gardens required a new centre to serve its ever-increasing numbers of visitors. The new centre incorporates the existing entrance building and tea pavilion and provides a new, octagonal entrance building, a tea room with kitchens, a shop and external plant sales area and various staff offices. The tea rooms feature a blue striped roof in naturally patinated copper, topped with tall finials. This theme is carried over to the interior with its striped fabric ceiling. A trellised colonnade and canopy decorate the exterior entrance with internal trellises in the form of columns and festoons.
