Sheltered housing and facilities in Whiteley Village, Surrey
A new sheltered housing building, Huntley House, within Whiteley Village in Surrey. It is part of the Grade II listed Arts and Crafts village established in 1911 as a self-contained centre for the elderly. Huntley House has 50 self-contained flats, a restaurant, a variety of social rooms, facilities and offices. The main elevation of Huntley House is divided into three pavilions linked by cross wings, a configuration designed to reflect the massing of the original buildings around the site. The building was declared the Best Private Housing Development in the prestigious Brick Awards and was particularly admired for its "confident, beautifully crafted detailing".
