Drawings by George Saumarez Smith
George Saumarez Smith produces detailed large scale presentation drawings of his designs, which have been exhibited and published widely, both in the UK and abroad.
In May 2010 an exhibition titled ‘Three Classicists’ by three young classical designers, George Saumarez Smith, Ben Pentreath and Francis Terry transformed the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Gallery I with intricate life size drawings of monumental friezes and columns, hanging alongside delicate sketches and painstaking presentation drawings of classical details and buildings.
George, Ben and Francis are from competing practices but all share a passion for classical architecture and for drawing, and have been close friends for years. Further information is available in the PRESS section or the RIBA website. For more information visit www.threeclassicists.com.
