The stool is the most ancient type of furniture. Egyptian and Greek stools were made with legs like animals, so establishing the tradition of carved feet that is with us to this day. The legs, feet and long tassels of this upholstered stool give it the character of a lion. It can be a seat, a footstool or a table for a tray of drinks. It is part of a suite of neo-classical drawing room furniture, with matching chairs and a sofa, but would look just as good on its own.
