Arts and crafts house in London
A new house in Belsize Park that responds to the Victorian and Edwardian character of the area, taking influence from local, Regency-inspired Arts and Crafts design. The house is constructed in brick, allowing it to harmonise with the surrounding buildings. The street façade has a semi-octagonal stone bay spanning two floors, set between two projecting pavilions. Internally, this feature creates a spacious hall area with a central vista running through the building. The rear, garden elevation has a colonnade with a balustraded balcony above. The house also incorporates a panel of specially designed decorative scrollwork, adding to the local tradition of decorative enrichment.
