A new country house built on virgin farmland in Hampshire. The project is the first planning appeal won under PPG7 (Planning Policy Guidance) also known as Gummer's Law, that only permits the construction of new country houses proven to be of ‘the highest quality’ and ‘truly outstanding’ in design. 15,000 square feet of accommodation includes 10 bedrooms, a series of state rooms, a family wing and a farm office. The main house containing the principal rooms is constructed in Bath stone with fine external detailing to reflect its status. The family wing is reduced in scale and detailing and is faced in a cream coloured brick to create a contrast in textures. Accompanying the house is a new, 50-acre landscape. Winner of Georgian Group Award 2007 Best New Building in the Classical Tradition.
