Major urban extension to Shepton Mallet
Field Farm is a new 42-acre residential district in South West England built on land owned by the Vagg family and the Prince of Wales’s Estate, the Duchy of Cornwall. The masterplan provides 360 dwellings close to the existing town centre, with a housing mix selected to cater for local needs. Other facilities include the original farmhouse and associated park land, a new school, local shop, a village green and an old chapel, relocated to the site to act as a community building. The design was developed according to traditional principles and has the character of a self contained village within the larger community of Shepton Mallet.
