Tregunnel Hill is a new development for the Duchy of Cornwall on the edge of Newquay town centre. The detailed masterplan provides a variety of homes, building upon work at Poundbury and the principles developed with the community for the Newquay Growth Area. The design reflects best practice approaches to urban design in terms of scale, density, massing, landscape structure, layout and access. Traditional local materials with a low environmental impact are used to reinforce the local character identified in the Newquay Pattern Book, produced by ADAM Architecture. This masterplan creates a new urban neighbourhood that meets the needs of local people, using good design as a means of promoting sustainability.
