Stone & flint house, Wiltshire
The owners particularly wanted the principal interiors to be as light as possible, and the butterfly plan allows for sunshine to be enjoyed in most of the main reception rooms throughout the course of the day. The octagonal entrance hall with a polished stone floor leads both to the staircase hall, and also to the drawing room and dining room. The kitchen opens to the central dining room with the principal drawing room beyond. A more informal family sitting room lies on the other side of the kitchen, looking over the garden towards the stream.
